Ministers
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Ephesians 4:11-12
From the days following Pentecost, the work of the church has been carried forward by faithful men and women who have answered the call to continue the mission of Christ—reconciling lost humanity to God. When one generation of leaders completes their course and receives their eternal reward, another rises to shoulder the responsibility, ensuring that the story of the church continues without interruption.
Just as the Book of Acts closes not with an ending, but with a continuation of the church’s mission, so too does the Mississippi District carry on the apostolic work in our time. The ministers of this District stand as modern reflections of the early apostles—laboring, leading, and reaching souls with unwavering commitment.
Their names are recorded not only in the chronicles of the Mississippi Historical Center, but, more importantly, in the heavenly record where the true measure of ministry is kept. While many have served without recognition, their impact remains eternal. For them, ministry has never been about fame or credit—it has always been about finishing the work and rescuing as many souls as possible before the day is done.
