Danny Robbins

Rev. Danny Robbins was born on July 1, 1959, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Henry and Thelma Robbins. He spent his childhood working on his grandfather’s farm, where deep roots of faith were already taking hold in the family.
During a revival around 1943, preached by Bro. Johnny Magee, Danny’s grandfather, R.T. Robbins, was one of the first two people to receive the Holy Ghost in what is now New Hebron Pentecostal Church. Around 1960, his mother, Thelma Robbins, also received the Holy Ghost at Jesus Name Tabernacle in Florence, Mississippi, and became a spiritual matriarch for the family.
Danny graduated from New Hebron High School in 1977 and began working in oil exploration as a surveyor. On June 26, 1982, he married Rita Robbins. Together, they raised three children—Lacie, Brittany, and Clay—and were later blessed with nine grandchildren. In July 1987, Danny founded and operated Southern Exterior Home Improvements, which he continued until 1995.
Though he strayed as a young man and struggled with alcohol and drugs for 17 years, the faithful prayers of his mother played a significant role in his transformation. In 1988, at the age of 29, he received the Holy Ghost under the ministry of Pastor Gary Erickson at New Hebron Pentecostal Church. After more than a year of God’s prompting, he surrendered to the call of ministry in 1990.
He received his ministerial license through the United Pentecostal Church in 1992, served as Section Youth Director until 1995, and was Youth Pastor under Bro. Erickson for five years. During this time, he also began ministering in jails and prisons, a calling that would shape much of his future ministry.
In February 1995, he was elected pastor of First Pentecostal Church of Mendenhall, where he served until his resignation in August 1998. He was appointed Mississippi District ACTS Director in 1996 and served until 2002. After leaving Mendenhall, he evangelized across Mississippi, training and launching ACTS classes.
In 2000, Bro. Robbins was elected pastor of Cedar Grove UPC in Tupelo, where he still serves. In 2002, the sheriff of Lee County appointed him as Inmate Ministry Chaplain, a role he continues to hold. Under his leadership, Cedar Grove has become a church deeply committed to outreach. Over the past decade, its jail ministry, led by Bro. Bobby Cockrell, has baptized more than 2,100 inmates and seen hundreds of others filled with the Holy Ghost.
Cedar Grove’s Life Recovery Ministries, formerly ACTS, has served Lee County and surrounding areas for more than 25 years. In 2004, Bro. Robbins was appointed Mississippi District Prison Ministry Director, serving until 2012, when he was elected Mississippi District North American Missions Director, a role he held until 2017.
Under his guidance, Cedar Grove built a new life center and youth center and completed a full sanctuary remodel. In 2022, the church rebranded as Apostolic Life Church, continuing to grow as a vibrant revival church.
In 2017, Bro. Robbins was elected Section Two Presbyter and continues to serve in that role. In 2021, he was appointed Southeast Region North American Missions Director, a position he continues to hold.
On May 3, 2020, his beloved wife and ministry partner, Sis. Rita Robbins, went to her eternal reward, leaving a profound void in their family and church. Sis. Rita faithfully served alongside her husband for more than 30 years, ministering with humility and compassion.
In 2023, God brought healing through a new chapter, and Bro. Robbins married Sis. Debbie Akers from Queen Creek, Arizona. A seasoned leader, Sis. Debbie led the Arizona Ladies Ministry for more than 20 years and serves as Director of International Ladies Prayer Ministry for the UPCI. She has already made a meaningful impact at Apostolic Life Church.
Bro. Danny Robbins’ life is a testimony of redemption, obedience, and unwavering commitment to the call of God. From humble beginnings on a Mississippi farm to leading dynamic ministries and reaching countless souls through outreach, jail ministry, and missions, his journey reflects the faithfulness of God and the power of a surrendered life.
As Apostolic Life Church continues to grow and impact its community and beyond, Bro. Robbins, alongside Sis. Debbie, remains committed to the mission—proclaiming the gospel, discipling believers, and leading a church anchored in revival.
To God be the glory—for the journey, the victories, and the souls still to be reached.
