Georgina Williams

Georgina I. Williams was born on January 1, 1929, in New Westminster, Canada, to the late Herbert and Marguerite Anne Richardson Rutledge. From a young age, she demonstrated exceptional musical ability, becoming the youngest concert violinist for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra at the age of 15.

After graduating from high school in Canada, Georgina continued her musical studies and earned her A.C.T.L. degree in violin. In 1955, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Pentecostal Bible Institute in Tupelo, Mississippi, where she later served as a teacher of music, English, and violin.

Sister Georgina was an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church International for 58 years. She faithfully served as President of the Mississippi District UPC Ladies Auxiliary for ten years and dedicated time to missionary work in Taiwan. She also traveled extensively throughout the United States, training Sunday School teachers and promoting creative and effective methods for teaching God’s Word.

At the time of her passing on March 4, 2013, Sister Georgina was a member of Calvary Tabernacle in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is survived by her devoted children, Albert E. Taylor, Jr. of Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, and Sharena A. Taylor of Indianapolis.

Georgina’s life was marked by a deep love for God, a passion for music, and a commitment to ministry and education. Her legacy of faithfulness, excellence, and service continues to inspire those who were blessed to know her.
