Randal Boyd

Randal Boyd was born in 1957 in Tylertown, Mississippi, to John Douglas and Opalene Boyd.

While working as an engineer at Grand Gulf Nuclear Power Plant, the Lord began dealing with his heart. Convicted about the direction of his life, he began making changes. During a visit home to Jayess, Mississippi, he attended service at Powell’s Grove Church, where he felt the Lord strongly deal with him, reminding him that delay could mean missing his opportunity. That night he responded to the call of God, was filled with the Holy Ghost, and baptized in Jesus’ name.

In 1983, at Powell’s Grove Church, he met Judi Spears, daughter of Doyle and Faith Spears, and they were later married.

In 1994, while living in Phoenix, Arizona, Brother Boyd accepted the call to ministry and received his local license with the UPCI Arizona District. Later that same year, he became pastor of The Pentecostals of Pearl in Pearl, Mississippi.

In 2007, the Boyds returned to Arizona to pioneer a church in Buckeye, Arizona. During his ministry, he also served on the Arizona District board as presbyter.

In 2020, Brother Boyd transitioned a thriving congregation to new leadership and stepped back from active pastoral ministry. He continues to faithfully serve in support of his pastor and remains active in the church he and Sister Judi attend, still ministering when called upon.
