Charles Triplett

Charles H. Triplett was born on August 4, 1947, in Louisville, Mississippi, to H. V. and Kate Triplett. He grew up alongside his brother, Steve, and sister, Pamela. At the age of five, his family moved to Pascagoula, Mississippi, where he faithfully attended First Pentecostal Church until leaving for college.

While attending Pentecostal Bible Institute in Tupelo, Mississippi, Charles met Connie Piper. On September 16, 1967, Miss Connie Piper became Mrs. C. H. Triplett. During his time at PBI, Brother Triplett served as President of the Evangelism Club and also as a student instructor, demonstrating an early passion for ministry and leadership.

After graduating from Pentecostal Bible Institute in May 1968, the Tripletts moved to Natchez, Mississippi, to assist Reverend W. E. Fuller. Just ten months later, they were appointed as Christmas for Christ missionaries, becoming the youngest missionary couple sent out by Home Missions in the history of the United Pentecostal Church at that time.

In April 1969, the Tripletts moved to Rocky Mount, North Carolina, where they established a new church that continues to thrive today. Shortly after arriving, their family was blessed with twin sons, Nathan Harold and Dathan Joel, born on October 23, 1969. The church experienced steady growth under Brother Triplett’s leadership, and the family faithfully ministered there until September 1971.

In September 1971, Reverend Triplett returned to Natchez, Mississippi, to serve as associate pastor under Reverend W. E. Fuller. Following Brother Fuller’s retirement, Brother Triplett became pastor in 1972. That same year, the Triplett family welcomed their youngest son, Andy.

Under Brother Triplett’s leadership, the church in Natchez experienced tremendous growth and revival. He carried a vision to build a monument to the glory of God in Natchez, and through strong spiritual leadership and the faithful commitment of the church family, that vision became a reality. A temporary sanctuary was completed in September 1980, followed by the construction of a beautiful 1,000-seat auditorium in December 1981. The sanctuary was officially dedicated in January 1982 by General Superintendent N. A. Urshan and quickly became a landmark in the Natchez community.

Brother Triplett also faithfully served the Mississippi District of the United Pentecostal Church in several important roles, including Pentecostal Conquerors President, Harvestime Radio Director, and Chairman of the Revival and Evangelism Council. At the time of his passing, he was serving as Mississippi District Secretary-Treasurer.

Reverend Charles H. Triplett continued to pastor the church in Natchez until March 1, 1986, when God called him home. Though his life spanned only 38½ years, his accomplishments, influence, and legacy in the Kingdom of God continue to impact lives to this day.
