Johnny Hamilton

Rev. Johnny Hamilton passed from this life, to be with Christ, on February 3, 1992. Born in Copiah County, Mississippi, on January 12, 1906, he was 86 years of age at his passing.

Bro. Hamilton received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, on May 20, 1935. He spent 57 years of his life preaching the Gospel. During those years, he pastored eight churches in Copiah, Lawrence, Lincoln, Marion, and Walthall counties in Mississippi. He also founded Bethel Temple Church in Brookhaven, Mississippi, in 1945.

For his noble and sacrificial efforts in Pioneer Evangelism, he received a Pioneer Award. He became an Honorary Member of the United Pentecostal Church, Int. on January 11, 1983.

Bro. Hamilton leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Sis. Maggie Lea Hamilton. Other survivors include three sons and one daughter. He will be greatly missed by his family and a host of friends.
