Tom Marshall

Bro. Tom G. and Sis. Leila Marshall began their ministry in 1951. His ministry lasted almost 60 years. They held pastorates in six states, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and South Carolina. With the help of the Lord and his people, Bro. Marshall built five churches, two parsonages, one large educational facility, and completed one church building that had been started by another minister.
He served in various offices: Presbyter in Arkansas, District Home Missions Director for Arkansas and Mississippi, District Sunday School Director for South Carolina and also served on the National Administrative Committee for Christmas for Christ.
In March 1983, he was asked to be pastor in LaWard, Texas. By August 1985, a new church building had been completed, and Bro. and Sis. Marshall dedicated it debt-free.
Eighteen ministers began their ministry while under his leadership, one being a foreign missionary. Bro. Marshall always said, “If you will give God time, He will work everything out just as smooth as silk!”
Sis. Marshall was faithful to his ministry and stood by his side in all ventures that God led them into. She also served in various capacities of District work. She was Ladies Auxiliary President for the Arkansas and Mississippi Districts. She also served as Ladies Auxiliary Secretary for the Arkansas District.
Sis. Marshall always made people feel that they were most important with her special greeting, “Hello Sunshine.” She was a source of strength for many who needed comforting words.
What a legacy! What a ministry! To God be the glory!
