The Pentecostal Church of Houston

In 1966, Thomas Gallaway went to Houston, Mississippi, and founded the First Pentecostal Church in a rented house. The assembly elected Charles and wife Raybelle James as pastor in 1967. The church purchased property on Thorn Road, where the congregation buildt a church building. Charles James resigned in 1969.

Roy Moore pastored 1970-1971. In July 1971, J. D. Butcher became pastor, and under his leadership, the assembly completed a fellowship hall. After J. D. Butcher offered his resignation in 1973, Charles Flake became pastor. During his tenure, the congregation built a new and beautiful sanctuary, using the original building as an educational center. J.D. Butcher resigned in 2006.

The congregation elected Kenneth Wilson and wife, Ann, as pastor. Pastor Wilson remodeled the original sanctuary into a more productive educational facility used for children’s ministries. In 2020, the assembly led by Pastor Wilson built a new and beautiful academic building. In January 2023, Paul & Sis. Dalonna Brassfield were elected Pastor. The congregation at Houston FPC expects continual growth to the church.
