Grace and Truth Family Worship Center

Pastor Marvin Phillips felt led to begin a church in Puckett. The church, named Puckett Pentecostal Church, was incorporated on April 3, 2006, and held its first service on May 10, 2006, with four families.

Initially, converts were baptized at UPCI churches in Raleigh or Polkville, but the church later purchased a baptismal tank. Over the years, they have experienced many miracles and mighty moves of God in Puckett. In 2006, Pastor Phillips, who was bi-vocational at the Puckett Volunteer Fire Department, was appointed Fire Chief, which opened many doors in the community. God has confirmed the call for the church in numerous ways throughout the years.

God works mysteriously. For several years, the Postmaster assigned Post Office Box 8 to the church. Pastor Phillips asked if he could have PO Box 238, but the Postmaster said it would never be available because the current holder had no plans to give it up. Pastor Phillips prayed about it. A few months later, when he visited the Post Office, the Postmaster smiled and said, “Marvin, you put a Pentecostal prayer on that box.” The lady who had it remarried and took her husband’s box, and the church finally received PO Box 238—a sign of God’s confirmation in Puckett.

On February 16, 2011, the church changed its name from Puckett Pentecostal Church to Grace and Truth Family Worship Center.

While attending an Apostolic Conference in 2017, Brother Shatwell shared God’s word that ministers would be given an already-built church building. In December 2017, God closed the door to their rented building. A few months later, while holding services at the fire station, a nearby church reached out. Praise the Lord—He opened the door to an already-built, fully furnished church building on Shell Oil Road, about 12 miles from Puckett, with no rent, no payments, and no mortgage.

God is good! Grace and Truth Family Worship Center continues to thrive, supporting four missionaries—TCM, New Beginnings, Lighthouse Ranch, Prison Ministry—and many more. Prayers continue for revival at Grace and Truth Church.
