David Tipton Jr.
David D. Tipton, Jr. was elected in April 2009 as the Superintendent for the Mississippi District United Pentecostal Church International. In addition, he serves as the General Board representative to the Building the Bridge ministry of the United Pentecostal Church, Executive Board member of Tupelo Children’s Mansion, Board Member of New Beginnings Adoption Agency in Tupelo, Mississippi, Executive Board member of Stand Up 4 Mississippi, and a member of the Mississippi Governor’s Council on Teen Pregnancy. Previously, he served as Executive Director of Promotions for North American Missions Division at World Evangelism Center in St. Louis, Missouri for two years.
Prior to accepting the position as Promotions Director in 2007, he served in various ministerial capacities. For ten years he was the Director of the North American Missions Division of the Mississippi District and pastor of The Pentecostals of Grenada, Mississippi. His first pastorate was of the First Pentecostal Church in Georgetown, Louisiana. During his time in Louisiana, he served as Assistant Pastor of the First Pentecostal Church of Leesville, Louisiana and served as Section six youth director.
Reverend Tipton was born in Port St. Joe, Florida. He and his wife, Gwen, have four children: sons- Devonn, Damon, and Matthew and daughter, Rachel. They have ten grandchildren.
